TL;DR
Looking for holiday party venues in Toronto for December 2026? This guide covers 20 rooms that actually host company parties, grouped by area: seven downtown and midtown classics, seven waterfront, Distillery and Exhibition Place spaces, and six large halls in North York, Vaughan and Mississauga. For each one you get the capacity the venue itself publishes, the feel of the room and the kind of party it suits best, plus a comparison table, a booking checklist for December and ideas for adding a corporate photo booth so the night has something everyone joins in on.
How We Picked These Venues
We build photo booths into holiday parties across the GTA every December, so we see a lot of ballrooms, breweries and converted warehouses from the inside. For this list we only kept venues that were open and actively taking event bookings when we checked their official pages in late October 2026. Two popular names were left out for that reason: Second Floor Events has closed, and The Berkeley Church is not currently operating as an event venue.
Every capacity figure below comes from the venue’s own website, floor plan or event package, and each venue name links to that source. Venues quote capacity in different ways (seated dinner, dinner and dance, cocktail reception or theatre), so we say which one we are quoting. We have not listed prices, because most of these venues price by date, guest count and food and beverage minimums, and they change from year to year. Treat every number as a starting point and confirm it with the venue’s sales team before you sign.
We also tried to give you range. Some of these rooms work for a team of 40, others for a company of 2,000. Some are polished hotel ballrooms, others are breweries, theatres or heritage buildings. If your group is small, our guide to small event venues in Toronto has more intimate options, and if you are planning something beyond the holidays, see our wider list of corporate event venues in Toronto.

Downtown and Midtown Picks
Downtown is where most Toronto offices still are, so these venues win on transit and convenience. Expect higher demand for December Fridays and earlier sellouts than in the suburbs.
1. Fairmont Royal York
Across from Union Station with direct access to the PATH, the Fairmont Royal York is the classic choice for a large company party. Its venue page lists the Canadian Room at 12,843 square feet for up to 1,670 guests at a reception, the Concert Hall at 8,396 square feet (the room that hosted the hotel’s inaugural ball in 1929) and the Imperial Room at 5,991 square feet, a former supper club with its own stage. If you have several departments or out of town guests staying over, the hotel setup makes logistics simple.
2. The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto
The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto on Wellington Street lists seven event rooms and 20,251 square feet of event space. The ballroom is about 7,400 square feet and is quoted at 600 for a reception or 420 for a banquet. It suits companies that want a polished, service focused dinner, client appreciation events or leadership parties where the details matter more than the dance floor.
3. Shangri-La Toronto
At 188 University Avenue, Shangri-La Toronto offers the Queen’s Park Ballroom at roughly 3,679 square feet, quoted at about 350 for a reception and 252 for a banquet, and it can be divided for smaller groups. It is a strong fit for a mid size team that wants a sleek, modern hotel setting downtown. We have worked events at the Shangri-La, and the booth below gives a sense of how the props and black backdrop look in that kind of room.

4. Arcadian Court and Loft
On the eighth floor of the Simpson Tower at 401 Bay Street, the Arcadian Court is one of the most striking rooms in the city, a grand heritage dining room. Oliver and Bonacini lists the Court at 410 seated or 1,200 for a reception, and the Loft above it, which overlooks City Hall, at 230 seated or 450 for a reception, with up to 1,500 when both are used. When we checked on October 28, 2026, the venue’s holiday offer read: book by November 1 and receive a complimentary signature festive cocktail and a $100 O&B gift card. Check the page for current terms.
5. Casa Loma
Few venues get the reaction Casa Loma does when guests walk in. The castle at 1 Austin Terrace was completed in 1914, and its Great Hall has 60 foot ceilings. The venue lists the Library at 210 for a banquet or 250 for a reception, the Conservatory at 80 or 150, and up to 1,500 guests for the entire facility. Note that the Glass Pavilion is seasonal (late May to mid September), so it is not part of a December plan. We do many events and weddings at Casa Loma, and it is a natural fit for a themed holiday night.
6. Eglinton Grand
The Eglinton Grand in midtown is a former movie theatre restored to its original 1936 look, and it lists holiday parties among its corporate events. Its main ballroom is quoted at 50 to 420 seated and up to 1,000 for a cocktail party. The original theatre entrance gives a dinner and dance party a real sense of occasion. For room details and planning tips, read our Eglinton Grand venue guide.
7. The Symes
At 150 Symes Road in the old Stockyards area, The Symes is a converted industrial building with a lot of character. The Grand Symes is listed at 5,800 square feet with capacity for 750, and the Scarlet Room holds 280 indoors with a terrace for another 250 in warmer months. It works well for creative, tech and marketing teams that would rather skip the hotel ballroom look. Our guide to The Symes goes deeper on layouts.
Waterfront and Distillery Picks
This group covers the lake, the Distillery District and Exhibition Place. You get breweries, a nightclub, two of the most atmospheric small rooms in the city and two large Exhibition Place venues with plenty of space for production.
8. Steam Whistle Brewing
Inside the historic John Street Roundhouse beside the CN Tower, Steam Whistle has been hosting events for more than 20 years. Its event page lists Locomotive Hall for up to 800 guests, Pilsner Hall for 350, the Tap Room for 180 at a cocktail party or 75 seated, the Mezzanine for 42 and the Founders Room for 20. It is a great match for a laid back team party where people want to mingle rather than sit through a long dinner.
9. Amsterdam BrewHouse
Right on the water at 245 Queens Quay West, Amsterdam BrewHouse is actively promoting holiday party bookings. A full buyout is quoted at 600 seated or 850 standing in the venue’s event guide, and smaller private areas suit department parties. The harbour views make it a relaxed alternative to downtown hotel rooms.
10. REBEL
If your party needs a stage, REBEL at 11 Polson Street is built for it: the venue describes 45,000 square feet, a 65 foot stage and LED video walls, with up to 600 for a banquet according to its corporate materials. Choose it when the night includes awards, a band or a big reveal and you want the production to feel like a concert.
11. Archeo
Archeo in the Distillery District is a restored 19th century carpentry shop with reclaimed timber details. It is listed at 128 seated, 140 for a cocktail party or 120 theatre style. For a single team or leadership dinner it feels warm and personal without being cramped.
12. The Loft at the Distillery
Above Tank House Lane, The Loft is a rustic room with barn wood walls and twinkle lights that holds up to 120 guests. It photographs beautifully, which matters if you want holiday photos people actually post.
13. Hotel X Toronto
At Exhibition Place, Hotel X Toronto offers more than 60,000 square feet across 17 plus event venues. The Victory Ballroom is 6,346 square feet with a maximum of 500 guests and views of Lake Ontario, while New Fort Hall holds 200. Having guest rooms on site is handy for teams travelling in from other offices.
14. Liberty Grand
Also at Exhibition Place, Liberty Grand is one of the largest heritage event complexes in the city. Its corporate package lists the Governor’s Room at 800 for a banquet or 1,500 for a reception, and up to 4,000 for the entire facility. For a company wide celebration it is hard to beat on scale. Our Liberty Grand venue guide covers each room.
North York, Vaughan and Mississauga Picks
Outside the core you usually get more space, easier parking and dates that stay open a little longer. These are the venues we would look at first for big groups or suburban offices.
15. Montecassino
At 3710 Chesswood Drive in North York, Montecassino lists Salon ABC at 900 for a dinner and dance or 1,000 for a reception, with smaller salons for department parties. It is a reliable choice for a big sit down dinner in the north end. We cover the area with our North York photo booth rental service.
16. Toronto Botanical Garden
The Toronto Botanical Garden offers a 5,000 square foot glass pavilion Visitor Centre, with spaces suited to groups of up to 300 or up to 120 depending on the furniture setup. It is calm, bright and a little unexpected for a holiday party, which makes it a good pick for teams that want something gentler than a ballroom.
17. Universal Eventspace
In Vaughan, Universal Eventspace describes 85,000 square feet and six function rooms that can host more than 2,000 guests. For very large company parties or galas that also need breakout rooms, few GTA venues offer this much room under one roof.
18. Paramount Eventspace
Paramount Eventspace in Woodbridge offers 61,000 square feet and five function rooms, with its main hall quoted at about 1,400 guests at rounds. It is a strong option for a formal dinner and dance with plenty of parking. Book a booth in the area through our Vaughan photo booth rental page.
19. Château Le Jardin
Château Le Jardin, also in Woodbridge, lists more than 40,000 square feet. The West Wing is quoted at 1,100 for a dinner and dance or 1,800 theatre style, the East Wing at 500 or 800, and Le Petit at 250 for a dinner and dance. It leans formal and elegant, so it suits galas and milestone year end celebrations.
20. Mississauga Convention Centre
The Mississauga Convention Centre handles everything from small meetings of 50 guests to banquets and galas of more than 2,400, and it advertises ample free on site parking. It also has a dedicated holiday parties page. For teams west of the city it is a practical choice, and we serve it through our Mississauga photo booth rental team.

Booking Tips for December
December is the busiest month of the year for corporate events in Toronto, and the same Fridays and Saturdays are wanted by everyone. A few habits make the process far less stressful.
- Lock the date first: Choose two or three acceptable dates before you call venues. Thursdays and early weeknights are often easier to book than the second and third Fridays in December, and some teams now hold their holiday party in January.
- Confirm how capacity is quoted: A room listed at 1,000 for a reception might seat far fewer for dinner with a stage and dance floor. Ask for the number for your exact layout.
- Ask about minimums: Many venues work with a food and beverage minimum or room fee instead of a fixed price. Get the full estimate, including service charges and HST, in writing.
- Check vendor access: Ask about load in times, elevator access, power and where vendors like a DJ or photo booth can set up. A photo booth typically needs a clear footprint and a standard outlet nearby.
- Plan for transit and weather: Downtown venues near Union Station make it easy for guests to take transit. Suburban venues usually offer parking. December weather can change quickly, so share directions and coat check details ahead of time.
- Hold your entertainment early: Popular DJs, photographers and photo booths book up for December weekends just like venues. Once the venue is confirmed, lock in the rest of the team.
Here is a simple timeline that works for most companies planning a December party.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| 10 to 12 weeks out | Set the budget and guest count, shortlist three to five venues and request availability. |
| 8 to 10 weeks out | Tour your top choices, compare written proposals and sign the venue contract. |
| 6 to 8 weeks out | Book catering details, music, photo booth and any entertainment. Send the save the date. |
| 3 to 4 weeks out | Finalise the run of show, dietary needs and branding for signage, prints and backdrops. |
| 1 week out | Confirm final numbers, vendor arrival times and the floor plan with the venue. |
Making Your Holiday Party Memorable
A great venue sets the mood, but it is the shared moments that people remember. That is why so many companies add a photo booth: it gives guests a reason to step away from their usual table, pull in colleagues from other teams and leave with a print. Placing the booth near the bar or along the path between dinner and the dance floor keeps it busy all night.
For holiday parties we often suggest our trading card photo booth, which turns each guest into a collectible card with their name and a playful stat. Our holiday trading card guide has role and stat ideas for every department. A themed photo booth backdrop that matches your venue and brand pulls the whole look together.

Pairing with Other Activations
Depending on the room and the crowd, these add ons work well alongside a classic booth:
- 360 video booth: Our 360 photo booth is a natural fit for ballrooms and big halls with a dance floor.
- Glambot: A Glambot slow motion camera arm is a great match for black tie and gala style parties.
- Magazine booth: A magazine photo booth gives guests a fun cover style print, ideal for awards nights.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best holiday party venues in Toronto for large groups?
For very large groups, look at Liberty Grand (up to 4,000 for the full facility), Universal Eventspace (2,000 plus guests), the Mississauga Convention Centre (banquets of more than 2,400), the Fairmont Royal York Canadian Room (up to 1,670 at a reception) and Casa Loma (up to 1,500 for the entire facility). Always confirm capacity for your exact layout.
Which Toronto holiday party venues work for small teams?
Archeo in the Distillery District holds 128 seated, The Loft above Tank House Lane holds up to 120, and Steam Whistle has a Mezzanine for 42 and a Founders Room for 20. Hotel ballrooms like the Shangri-La can also be divided for smaller groups.
How far ahead should we book a December holiday party venue?
Aim to start your search 10 to 12 weeks before the date and sign the venue contract 8 to 10 weeks out. Popular Fridays and Saturdays in December go first, so keep a couple of backup dates or consider a Thursday or January party.
Do Toronto venues publish prices for holiday parties?
Most do not publish a fixed price. Many use room fees or food and beverage minimums that depend on the date, day of the week and guest count, so ask each venue for a written estimate that includes service charges and HST.
Which holiday party venues are close to transit?
The Fairmont Royal York has direct access to Union Station and the PATH, and the Ritz-Carlton, Shangri-La, Arcadian Court and Steam Whistle are all in the downtown core near subway and transit routes. Suburban venues such as the Mississauga Convention Centre offer free on site parking instead.
Can you set up a photo booth at any of these venues?
Yes. We set up photo booths at hotels, breweries, heritage venues and banquet halls across Toronto and the GTA. We just need a clear space near a standard outlet and a few details about load in from your venue.
